New Family room open plan design

The 1623 Clinton Street project is a beautiful turn of the century Federal Colonial with an odd 1970s kitchen-family room addition facing the large rear yard.
The clients wanted an updated open floor plan kitchen family room flooded with light and reconnected to the back terrace. Also the master bedroom above the family room need a new master bath and walk in closets.
We removed all of the walls from side to side and installed (3) 26’ long beams, giving us an open room of 26’ x 42’. We designed a New kitchen with floating islands for daily prep and holiday buffet serving.
I added a new connection to the formal dining room through a new butlers pantry. I also added a new stair from the kitchen to lead directly up to the newly remodeled master bedroom hall for easy informal day to day access.
